Securitize Announces Tokenized Products for 12 U.S. Stocks Including Apple and Nvidia…USDC Settlement on Solana

Tokenization platform Securitize announced on October 8 U.S. Eastern Time the launch of ‘Securitize Stocks,’ which enables trading of U.S. equities on a blockchain. The initial lineup consists of 12 names: Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Alphabet, Tesla, Meta, Amazon, Netflix, Circle, SpaceX, Strategy and Palantir.

Each token is backed one-to-one by actual shares and represents a security entitlement under Article 8 of the U.S. Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). The structure is designed to preserve dividends, voting rights and other rights attached to the shares. Holders own their rights through the broker-dealer Securitize Markets and are not registered shareholders entered directly on the issuing company’s shareholder register.

If an issuing company adopts tokenization with direct participation and conversion is offered, holders may convert their positions through a transfer agent into shares recorded on the company’s shareholder register. Securitize said it will not lend the underlying shares and that the companies issuing those shares have not sponsored or officially endorsed the product.

Trading will take place through Securitize’s proprietary automated market maker, PropAMM, on Solana, with Jump Trading serving as market maker. Settlement will use USDC. The service will initially operate during extended trading hours and is planned to expand to 24-hour, year-round trading. It is available to investors in permitted jurisdictions, including the United States and the EU, who meet local legal and eligibility requirements and complete know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money-laundering (AML) procedures.

Securitize also plans to pursue trading on the digital venue being developed by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) and on the tokenized securities market of OKXICE, a joint venture between ICE and OKX. Neither venue has launched, and trading may not materialize depending on regulatory approval and venue review. The announcement did not provide fees or minimum trade sizes.

Metanomia View

Securitize is combining stock brokerage with an automated market maker and stablecoin settlement, crossing the operating boundary between securities firms and crypto-asset platforms. Shareholder rights remain within the existing securities system, but the customer interface and the technology that processes trades move onchain. Traditional financial licenses remain necessary, yet the assumption that incumbent financial firms will continue to control both customer access and trading revenue is becoming less secure.
